AGM & Prize-Giving Event
We are excited to invite you to the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Liz van Welie Aquatics Swimming Club Incorporated, which will be held in conjunction with our Annual Prize-Giving! This special event is more than just an AGM – it’s a celebration of the hard work, dedication, and achievements of our swimmers throughout the year. The evening will feature a highlight of the year – our Prize-Giving Ceremony – where we come together to celebrate the accomplishments of our athletes.
Dinner
To make the evening even more enjoyable, we’ve arranged a delicious, subsidised meal, prepared by the fantastic students and staff at Toi Ohomai Catering. Buffet style dinner will be available for swimmers, parents, and families attending the event.

Each meal is priced at $20, but the club will subsidise $10 per meal, so the cost per person is just $10. Dinner will be served starting around 5:00 PM.

Call For Nominations
We are now seeking nominations for positions on the Executive Committee.
Liz van Welie Aquatics Swimming Club is proudly volunteer-run, and we welcome fresh perspectives—particularly from parents of junior swimmers.
If you or someone you know is interested in supporting the Club and contributing to its ongoing development, please consider standing for election
Nomination Requirements:
· Name of the nominee
· Name of the proposer
· Signed consent from the nominee

Adoption Of New Constitution
In line with the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, which came into effect on 5 April 2023, all incorporated societies must update their constitutions to comply with the new legislative requirements by April 2026.
Our proposed new constitution reflects:
- Mandatory requirements of the Act
- Alignment with Swimming NZ and regional association policies
- Strengthened governance structures
- Our Club’s values and commitment to excellence in swimming
Key updates include:
- Governance and Membership (including Committee structure and responsibilities)
- Dispute Resolution Processes
- Financial Reporting Obligations
A draft of the new constitution has been emailed to all members.
